Annual eLearning Guild Conference in Orlando, Florida 2009

An annual eLearning conference organized by eLearning Guild (http://www.elearningguild.com/) was held in Orlando, Florida from March 10 to March 13^th. 2009.

This year's conference had over 30 exhibitors, over 100 workshops, presentations and learning sessions. All participants could be separated into three major groups: e-learning software developers, providers of integrated learning solutions (LMS) and consulting companies that offer services to clients in the e-Learning area. The current trend in development of software solutions for eLearning is to make the solutions more user-friendly and intuitive for users that are not technically advanced. LMS solutions offered by companies varied based on price, applications and user profile. Currently LMS products offer even small and medium companies functionalities that before were available only to large clients with six digits IT budgets. The current international financial crisis put strong pressure on large LMS providers and drove prices significantly down. The current trend in all segments reflects more conservative approach to pricing and functionality.

Competentum is not a stranger at this event. The company had large exhibits for the last several years and it was nice for your company to meet colleagues whom we knew for several years.

Taking into account challenging economic situation eLearning Guild managed to hold a successful event that allowed participants to exchange ideas, to learn latest trends in e-learning area and to meet with potential customers.
